....May flowers

Flowering the cross in Montana "He has Risen"
Absaroke mountains
Spring has sprung and we are going to see the green grass grow, (weeds of course will come first but with it all green you don't have to notice them yet).  Wild flowers are sprouting their little shoots up, these are weeds too, but we can't be too critical in this Easter season.

February 2019

The coldest snowiest February since 1936:  Hauling water, feeding livestock morning and night, plowing snow stripes in the fields so livestock can move around, below zero temperatures making everything more difficult, no wonder I forgot to write..... Yet I was blessed to ski with two of my Godchildren at Big Sky so that renewed my fondness for snow

This kind of says it all, oh so WHITE

God gives us hope, Robins are here

Riding for the Soul

Soulful rides include a horse and rider.  Riding amongst the newborn calves is a favorite.  Other great benefits of Riding Retreats; It gives you a new way to thinking clearly, refreshing your attitude and feeling physical again.  It stretches muscles you don't normally use, gives refreshing oxygen to your blood, and stimulates your mind in many ways.  Mostly, you enjoy nature in a more wholesome way.  New spring grass is peeping through our mud and snow, now but soon there will be new wild flowers, other creatures abound like rabbits, deer, sandhill cranes, always, lots of birds and plants to investigate.  Then there's treasures, too,  like looking at tracks or finding sheds(horns) or special rocks.  Smelling the fresh air, wind blowing somewhere gives you more color and clarity of mind as well.  So, "Here We Go,"

March 2019

In the spirit of Mardi Gras, March 5

Ash Wednesday, March 6

& St. Patty's Day, March 17,

Thinking, hmmm, "Spring,  hurry"

Praying for these cow miracles

The Seas of snow have inflated to three feet in most pastures so the geese and ducks are everywhere;  swimming and laying in the seas of snow
My Mardi Gras Duck card
Mornings in Montana are mornings spent with God.  We get up early every day like clockwork, to feed the animals and love to see the miracle of life.  Lately with the arctic cold masses falling our way it is a miracle to see life in the mornings.  We thank God and the guys work really hard to manage the cows.  Cows are hearty as are most animals.  God has made animals especially tough, they inspire me to be tougher, ( I usually just put on a few more layers and call it good.)

The Great commandment says :  "Love God and Love your neighbor as yourself."  And I cannot give enough thanks to my neighbors for helping me get through the feet of snow every morning.    Heartfelt love and thanks I give to thee.  So I am dedicating this months blog to neighborly gestures, please share yours as well.  One Good thing I love is our Little Library, handcrafted by a neighbor gentleman and used by neighbors sharing books.  At holidays, I wrap a book in brown paper and share a little reason why and who this surprise book would be good for, then slide it in the library.

Having coffee with the neighbors is another great fun way to stay connected in your neighbor hood, drop by with cookies or coffee cake, it may begin a ritual for you.  Other fun gifts to bring:  some mini-potted herbs to bring the green inside, breadsticks in a pretty tall glass or what I love is my favorite neighbor brings me hand-stitched dish towels!!  Enjoy each other and always be thankful.  God bless all of you.

December Dreams

the year of the tree
The Legend of the Christmas tree...
Once a long time ago, in England, a monk, named Wilfred wanted to spread christianity to his Druid companions.  So he was with them and he struck down a huge oak tree, (which was a symbol of worship in the Druid religion).  As the oak tree fell to the earth, it split into four pieces, and from its center there grew a young fir tree, pointing a green spire toward the sky.  The crowd gazed in amazement.  Wilfred let his axe drop and turned to say;  "this little tree shall be your Holy tree tonight.  It is the wood of peace for you to build your houses.  The evergreen leaves are the sign of endless life.  And see how it points to the heavens,  let this be called the tree of  the Christ Child.  Gather around it and it will be surrounded by loving gifts and acts of kindness.

Merry Christmas to you!
